Our overarching ‘Now’s the Time to Visit the KZN South Coast’ messaging continues to filter through all marketing material, with this quarter focusing on the region being a ‘Getaway’ ideal for MICE tourism, Valentine’s Day and the Easter holidays.
Buy Local Campaign Update
We continue to welcome new Buy Local members every quarter, with a special focus on our Buy Local members from the fashion industry who were profiled this quarter. Sistas Fellas, Sthesh Fashion Boutique, and Deon Zuider are local, award-winning labels which are demonstrating the international demand for expert craftsmanship, and the vast investment potential in the region’s fashion industry.
Buy Local member benefits:
- Marketing exposure across SCTIE offline and digital marketing tools such as website, mobile app, and social media.
- Relevant information sharing about what is available for various sectors.
- Member credibility through listing on SCTIE platforms, and a badge to use on marketing collateral.
- Campaign-based business support and business-to-business networking.
How you can get involved:
- We urge all local businesses, that are not already Buy Local members, to sign up NOW as free membership will end on 30 June 2025.
- We encourage businesses to support other local organisations when sourcing food, corporate gifts, accommodation décor, prizes/welcome hampers, and more.
- We encourage residents to consider Buy Local members when purchasing gifts. Ideas include local spa vouchers, gift cards for local eateries, local crafts, preserves, clothing and jewellery, adventure experiences, day trips, and so much more.

Fam Trips
We hosted two impactful familiarisation (fam) trips on the KZN South Coast, giving media personalities a first-hand experience of our incredible tourism assets. This generates significant exposure for our local establishments while building great relationships with media.
SABC Media Fam Trip
Date: 20 to 22 December 2024


In partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority (KZNTAFA), we hosted a media fam trip for SABC, showcasing the diverse tourism attractions and experiences available on the KZN South Coast. The SABC team visited Mac Banana, Ramsgate Beach, San Lameer and The Pont Holiday and Water Sports Resort. This resulted in valuable coverage on SABC 3, highlighting the KZN South Coast’s appeal just ahead of the peak holiday season.
Meetings Africa Post Fam Trip
Date: 27 to 28 February 2025


We proudly hosted international buyers from Meetings Africa who explored our top attractions, with site inspections conducted at key venues. This visit showcased our region’s incredible MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) offerings, reinforcing its appeal as a premier business and events destination. The guests visited the Blue Marlin All-Inclusive Seascape, San Lameer Hotel, and The Gorge Private Game Spa.
Tourism Awareness Campaign Update
This quarter, our tourism awareness campaign is themed ‘It’s Getaway Ready!’. We are calling on all our residents, tourism establishments, business owners, and stakeholders to be ‘Easter ready’ and be proud ambassadors of the KZN South Coast. By promoting positive messaging around the Blue Flag Beaches, world-class dive sites, and cultural attractions, we can captivate tourists and drive our local economy.
